About

Born and raised in Gallup, New Mexico, it wasn’t long before writer Christine Rogel Morse developed a passion for the people and culture of the West. She is the editor in chief of Western Art & Architecture (circulation 75,000+) and the copy editor for Big Sky Journal (circulation 55,000+).

Her first book, a collection of New Mexico ghost and folklore stories, was published in July 2021 and is available at https://rowman.com/ISBN/9781493046904/Haunted-New-Mexico-Ghosts-and-Strange-Phenomena-of-the-Land-of-Enchantment

As a journalist and editor, Rogel has covered immigration, education, and business for publications in Arizona and New Mexico, and was the editor of a 30+ page weekly that covered arts, culture, and entertainment for the Las Cruces Sun-News in southern New Mexico.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in English literature and a master’s degree from the Walter Cronkite School at Arizona State University with an emphasis in writing and digital media.

Rogel splits her time between the mountain town of Bozeman, Montana, and the coastal city of Portland, Maine. She views journalism as a lifelong education in the world. Today, find her on deadline or in the mountains with her husband, Andrew, and their bird dogs, Drifter and Dodger.
