Born and raised in Gallup, New Mexico, it wasn’t long before writer Christine Rogel developed a passion for the people and culture of the West. She is the editor in chief of Western Art & Architecture (circulation 75,000+) and the copy editor for Big Sky Journal (circulation 55,000+).

As a journalist, Rogel has covered immigration, education, and business for publications in Arizona and New Mexico, and was the editor of a 30+ page weekly that covered arts, culture, and entertainment for the Las Cruces Sun-News in southern New Mexico.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in English literature and a master’s degree from the Walter Cronkite School at Arizona State University with an emphasis in writing and digital media.
Rogel lives in Bozeman, Montana. She views journalism as a lifelong education in the world. Today, find her on deadline or in the mountains with her bird dog, Drifter.
